Terms and Conditions of The Annual Conference of ESREA LHBN 2021 Participation



These are the terms and conditions (the “Agreement”) governing your participation in The Annual Conference of ESREA LHBN 2021 "An Ecology of Life and Learning: Discourses, dialogue and diversity in biographical research"  (the “Online Conference”), that will be held on March 4-7, 2021.
By registering for the Online Conference you agree to these terms, which form a binding legal contract between the Online Conference host, The University of Lower Silesia, Strzegomska Street 55, 53-611 Wrocław, Poland (“ULS” or “Organizer”) and the registered attendee or participant (“you” or “Participant”).
If you are registering on behalf of another individual, it is your responsibility to ensure the person participating is aware of these terms and accepts them. By completing the registration on behalf of another individual you are warranting that you have made the Participant aware of these terms and that they have accepted these terms.

1 Participant Requirements

1.1 Access. Your registration entitles you to access to the Online Conference for which you have registered. Any and all other costs associated with your attendance shall be borne solely by you, and Virtual Event shall have no liability for such costs.
1.2 Use of Likeness. By participating in the Online Conference you acknowledge and agree to grant Online Conference the right at the Online Conference to record, film, live stream, photograph, or capture your likeness in any media now available or hereafter developed and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally to disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from you or any payment to you. This grant to the Online Conference includes, but is not limited to, the right to edit such media, the right to use the media alone or together with other information, and the right to allow others to use or disseminate the media.
1.3 Online Conference Content. You acknowledge and agree that the Online Conference, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change any and all aspects of the Online Conference, including but not limited to, the Virtual Event name, themes, content, program, speakers, performers, hosts, moderators, venue, and time. Online Conference content shall be recorded by ULS and will be accessible to paid registrants.

2 Prohibited Conduct

2.1 Limitations on Use. By registering for the Online Conference pass you agree not to sell, trade, transfer, or share your complimentary access link and/or code, unless such transfer is granted by the Organizer. By registering for a paid Online Conference Pass, you agree not to share, sell or trade your access. If ULS determines that you have violated this policy, ULS may cancel your access and retain any payments made by you.
2.2 Disruptive Conduct. You acknowledge and agree that the ULS reserves the right to remove you from the Online Conference if ULS, in its sole discretion, determines that your participation or behaviour create a disruption or hinder the Online Conference or the enjoyment of the Online Conference content by other Participants.
2.3 Recording, Live Streaming, and Videotaping. Participants may not record or broadcast audio or video of sessions at the Online Conference.

3 Fees and Registration

3.1 Payment. The payment of the applicable fee for the Online Conference is due upon registration. If such payment is insufficient or declined for any reason ULS may refuse to allow you to access the Online Conference and shall have no liability in that regard.

4 Cancellation and Quality Assurance

4.1 ULS strives to provide you with the most effective virtual event. If after completing the Online Conference you feel there is some way we can improve, please provide us in writing with your comments on the evaluation. Should you feel dissatisfied and wish to request a credit or refund, please submit it in writing no later than 10 business days after the end of the Online Conference to The University of Lower Silesia, Strzegomska Street 55, 53-611 Wrocław, Poland.
We will evaluate individual complaints in the context of collective comments from the Online Conference. As speakers are confirmed a long time before the Online Conference, some speaker changes or topic changes may occur in the program. ULS is not responsible for speaker changes.
4.2 Cancellations are subject to the entire Online Conference registration fee. All sales are final. No payments will be refunded or refundable. Please note that if you do not cancel and do not access the Online Conference, you are still responsible for payment. In no event shall ULS be obligated to refund all or a portion of the registration fee.
4.3  If ULS is prevented from carrying out its obligations as it pertains to the Conference you registered for as a result of any cause beyond its control, or such Conference cannot be Virtually conducted because of a software or issue with the hosting platform or due to acts of God, strikes, labour disputes, government requisitions, restrictions or war or apparent act of war, terrorism, disaster, civil disorder, epidemic or pandemic, curtailment or restriction on transportation facilities, or any other comparable calamity, casualty or condition (collectively a “Force Majeure”) ULS shall have the right to immediately terminate the affected Virtual Event without liability and shall be relieved of its obligations to Registrant. If the affected Online Conference is terminated due to a Force Majeure occurrence before the first day of the Online Conference, then ULS will reschedule the affected Online Conference and your registration fee will be applied to the rescheduled Conference.

5 Online Conference Registration Confirmation

5.1 Once you have completed your registration, you will receive your registration confirmation by email. Please ensure that your valid email is entered correctly on the registration form. Be sure to check your junk email box too in case any of your Online Conference email(s) are caught by spam filters.
5.2 You will receive essential information for registered attendees electronically at the email address that is provided on your registration form.

6 Information clause on personal data processing of a participant

In accordance with Article 13 para. 1 and para. 2 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons regarding the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46 /EC (Official Journal of the European Union L. 2016.119.1), General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter referred to as "GDPR", it is hereby informed that:

6.1 The Administrator of your personal data is the University of Lower Silesia (seated in 53-611 Wrocław at Strzegomska Street 55)
6.2 The data administrator can be contacted via email: iod@dsw.edu.pl or in writing at the address of the administrator's office with the note "Data protection".
6.3 Your personal data will be processed for the following purposes:
  • in order to organise The Annual Conference of ESREA 'An Ecology of Life and Learning: Discourses, dialogue and diversity in biographical research';
  • in order to fulfil legal obligations incumbent on the administrator of personal data resulting from legal provisions for tax and accounting purposes;
  • for internal administrative purposes;
  • in order to establish, investigate or defend against claims in connection with conducting dispute proceedings, proceedings before public authorities and other proceedings.
6.4 Your personal data will be processed for the period necessary for the implementation of goals indicated in point 6.3
6.5 You have the right to access to your personal data, its correction, erasing or restriction, the right to object the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to transfer data according to the law.
6.6 You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority and to enforce your rights by bringing the legal action.
6.7 Your personal data will not be automatically processed or profiled.

Klauzula informacyjna o przetwarzaniu danych osobowych uczestnika

1. Administratorem Twoich danych osobowych jest Dolnośląska Szkoła Wyższa we Wrocławiu, ul. Strzegomska 55, 53-611 Wrocław.

2. Jeśli masz pytania dotyczące przetwarzania Twoich danych osobowych oraz przysługujących Ci praw, skontaktuj się z naszym Inspektorem Ochrony Danych: iod@dsw.edu.pl.

3. Dane osobowe przetwarzane są:

· na podstawie art. 6 ust. 1 lit b RODO, tj. w celu zawarcia z Tobą umowy i jej prawidłowej realizacji;

· na podstawie art. 6 ust. 1 lit. c RODO, tj. przetwarzanie jest niezbędne do wypełnienia ciążącego na nas obowiązku prawnego;

· na podstawie art. 6 ust. 1 lit f RODO, tj. uzasadniony interes administratora którym jest ustalenie, dochodzenie i obrona przez roszczeniami w związku z prowadzeniem postępowań spornych, postepowań przed organami władzy publicznej oraz innych postępowań.

4. Przysługuje Ci prawo dostępu do treści swoich danych i ich sprostowania, usunięcia, ograniczenia przetwarzania, prawo do przenoszenia danych, prawo do cofnięcia zgody w dowolnym momencie bez wpływu na zgodność z prawem przetwarzania. Masz prawo dostępu do treści swoich danych oraz możliwość ich poprawiania w każdym czasie.

5. Twoje dane osobowe będą przetwarzane do czasu ustania po naszej stronie obowiązków archiwizacyjnych określonych przepisami prawa (np. prawo rachunkowe) lub upływu okresu przedawnienia naszych wzajemnych roszczeń (w zależności od tego, która ze wskazanych okoliczności zaistnieje później).

6. Odbiorcami Twoich danych będą podmioty współpracujące z Administratorem Danych w celu zapewnienia prawidłowej realizacji usług.

7. Twoje dane nie są przetwarzane w sposób zautomatyzowany oraz nie są przekazywane poza obszar EOG.

8. Masz prawo wniesienia skargi do UODO, gdy uznasz, że przetwarzanie Twoich danych osobowych narusza przepisy ogólnego Rozporządzenia o ochronie danych osobowych z dnia 27 kwietnia 2016 r.
